Mission Summary:  Subject walked away from home, SO searched for some time before calling Search & Rescue.  Subject was found in neighboring house when owners returned from work.

Mission Summary:  Subjects returning from hike could not find their vehicle, called 911 on cell phone. 

NMSP Helicopter 606 located the party about 500 ft from their car.  IC was directed to their location and brought them back to IB.

Subject:  2 male teenagers and 1 female teen

Mission Summary:  Three subjects started on a brief hike looking for mushrooms in the Santa Fe Ski Area.  They continued the search up Deception Peak, down to Name Lake, out the creek past the Winsor Trail and became disoriented, cold and hungry.  They spent the night out and started moving early Saturday morning.  Subjects were found on Trail 403, given food and water and were walked out by 3 SAR teams.

Subject:  Male hunter

Mission Summary:  Subject became separated from group of brothers while scouting for elk.  Family searched the afternoon until about midnight and the next morning.  Subject was found by BIA Officer on lower end of La Jara Canyon on FS Rd 147.  He was transported to his residence.

Mission Summary:  Mission began as search for teenager who became separated from his family.  He was located by another hiker and returned to IB.  While looking for his son, the father encountered a woman in a tent.  She was hypothermic, dehydrated and disoriented.  A paramedic was dispatched to the woman’s location and after emergency treatment, the subject was littered  out to IB and airlifted to the hospital.

Mission Summary:  Subjects overshot expected destination while rafting the Rio Grande River.  Higher that expected water washed them down to Cochiti Lake where they were picked up by fishermen on a pontoon boat and dropped off at Tetilla Peak Boat Ramp.

Mission Summary:  Game & Fish employee became ill in the wilderness.  Rescued by medical helicopter prior to arrival of National Guard aircraft.

Subject:  Female hiker, age 86

Mission Summary:  An 86 year old woman was located and evacuated after having fallen 50 foot down a very steep slope.  She was uninjured and was able to walk out unassisted after being extricated by SAR team.

Mission Summary:  A 27-year-old female with a history of running away was reported missing from her residence.  Teams were called out but a Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Deputy located subject before teams reached IB.

Mission Summary:  Subject was reported having cardiac problems and unable to continue hike.  He was evacuated by Philmont SAR to ambulance and taken to hospital.

Mission Summary:  Wife dropped subject off at campsite on Holman Hill and was to pick him up at 11:00 but he did not show up.  Mission initiated at 16:16 hours, subject walked back to road after dark and was picked up by family members.

Mission Summary:  Subject is an Alzheimer patient at the Arbors in Del Ray.  Was last seen at approx 1530 hrs.  Las Cruces Police Dept started search, SP call at approx 2000.  Subject was located by personnel from the Mesilla Valley Hospital, which is adjacent to the Arbors.  Medic was dispatched and subject was escorted back to the Arbors.

Mission Summary: Open Space Police found subject’s vehicle in the Elena Gallegos Trail Head parking lot.  After confirming that subject was not at home and had been acting “weird”. SAR was activated.  Subject was found walking along Tramway Blvd. about 4 miles N/NW of his vehicle.  Transported to IB then taken by ambulance to VA Medical Center.

Mission Summary:  Subject was at Spence Springs (a hot spring area) with friends.  Subject then disappeared and was reported lost after friends found area where he had fallen.

Mission Summary:  Subject left home alone on a field trip west of Rio Rancho.  Set up camp for the night and went out for a walk in the late evening of 5/13/2006.  He got disoriented and could not find his ATV or campsite.  Subject was found dehydrated with a sprained ankle, taken to hospital on 5/16/06

Mission Summary:  NMSP D-5 advised of a 911 call from subjects.  They had become stranded and tried to walk out.  Weather was rainy and child became cold and wet.  They were found by Sandoval County SO.

Mission Summary:  Subject went out on day hike to look for a cave about 14:00.  He became lost and called 911 at 19:15 hrs.  SAR was activated at 20:20, subject was found with mild dehydration and hypothermia.  He was walked out to IB and refused treatment.

Mission Summary:  Subjects separated from their party and when they did not return at the appointed time, their husbands reported them missing.  A hasty search of roads around the perimeter was completed during the night.  The IC determined that the subjects were going in circle and gave UTM coordinates of the PLS to 606 who found them about 9:01.  Both were in good health and spirits.

Mission Summary:  2 kayakers left from John Dun Bridge towards Pilar Bridge.  Both kayaks were broken and they could not get out of the canyon.  The Blackhawk winched them out.

Mission Summary:  Subjects were hiking in the Ski Apache area where they became lost in the rain and fog.  Most likely routes were covered during the next 2 days.  Phone calls to family indicated they had come down the middle fork of the Ruidoso.  After teams chased the two for several days, they came out at Three Rivers Campground.

 Mission Summary:  Subjects located on Trail 22, 1.5 miles west of Trail 24.  Eighteen year-old subject complained of breathing problems and sore ankles.  She was transported to medical center.

Mission Summary:  Otero County SO was contacted when subject was 2 hrs. overdue.  NMSP issued mission number before it was determined if the subject was truly missing.  OCSO found subject about 14:00 at a friend’s house.

Mission Summary:  93-year-old woman left sister’s house in Fruitland, got ride to Shiprock.  Lady in Shiprock agreed to taker her home the next day.  She heard the announcement concerning the elderly woman on the radio and called police to let them know she had her.  Police returned her to her sister’s house in Fruitland.

Mission Summary:  Subject left home to herd sheep at 1300 hrs.  He called family by cell phone and stated he was lost but could see lights.  Family started search, notified Navajo Police who called NMSP to request assistance.  Subject was found walking down a road one canyon over from where he was supposed to be.

Mission Summary:  Subject called 911 to report he was disoriented and needed help getting back to his vehicle.  It got dark and he could not find the trail out.  Teams called out and searched along the trail, subject did not hear anyone calling or whistles during the night.  He was found after sunrise.

 Mission Summary:  Subject called NMSP Dispatch and said he and his dog were stranded in an arroyo along the railroad tracks, the water was rising and he could not get to a safe place.  NMNG was called but before they could arrive on scene, subject called and said he had gotten out safely.

Mission Summary:  Subject had stolen his sister’s laptop computer, which was recovered in his room.  He was sorry and upset about doing this and like he had done in the past, walked off to be by himself.  A person had been stationed at the subject’s home throughout most of the search.  After obtaining permission to enter the home, subject was discovered in the home taking a shower.

Mission Summary:  Subject was on a wilderness hunt when he became separated from the outfitter.  The weather was heavy thunderstorms/flash flooding and fog.  He was found 2 days later approximately 3-5 miles east of PLS in good condition & returned to the hunt.

Mission Summary:  Subject was hiking with the Reporting Party on Military Trail (N to S) and lost the trail.  They separated to look for trail and did not get back together.  RP walked out and called for help.  Subject was located at 9:05 on 3/24/06.

Mission Summary:  Diabetic male age 55, 40 year-old mother and 14 year-old daughter were out for a short horseback ride.  Sheriff was notified when 5 hours overdue.  Soon after establishing IB at the home corral, subjects called from White Feather Trading Post and were retrieved by volunteers.

Mission Summary:  USAF C130 landed at RIAC about noon.  Tower reported hearing the ELT immediately.  Two companies drove around the airport looking for the signal – asked the crew of the C130 if it was their signal.  They checked and said it was not their ELT and left.  Personnel from the aircraft painting company entered the aircraft and hit the reset button, which stopped the signal.  When they pushed the test button, it started again.  Teams left the airport with no ELT signal being heard.
